LA CHIESA MADRE
La Chiesa Madre is situated in the main square.
The loggia is dedicated to St Thomas of Canterbury. The church dates back
to Norman times.
The baroque style facade includes numerous sculptures
from the 15th and 16th centuries, from the Gagini school.
Of particular interest are the twenty marble panels
depicting the Annunciation, Scenes from the life and passion of Christ,
the evangelists and the saints Crispino and Giuseppe.
The church also houses paintings from the 17th
and 18th Centuries.
