Favignana
Favignana is dominated by Mount St Catherine. Every year in may thre ancient custom of tuna killing "la Mattanza" takes place here On arrival in Favagnana, the tourist can admire the regal elegance of the "Tonnara Floria" building, built in industrial style, or the elegance of "Palazzo Florio" built in liberty style. Favagnana is famous for its beautiful clear blue sea, rich in history (in 241AC it was the setting for the naval battle between the Romans and the Carthaginians. Favagnana's coves (Cala Azzura, Grotta Perciata, Cala rotonda and are beautiful and peaceful and its breathtaking landscaper are full of colour.
